“Akshay needs to open up,” says Vinod Khanna

“Akshay needs to open up,” said Vinod Khanna in an exclusive interview with IndiaGlitz yesterday. Khanna, a veteran of super hit films like ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’, ‘Qurbani’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ amongst many others is all set to make a comeback with Vishram Sawant’s ‘Risk’ where he plays a don. “This is my third inninigs,” he says with a smile. And it seems he is determined to make this one count. As for Akshay then the doting father feels that nobody doubted his acting talents, it’s just that he is getting his due.

On being asked about his long association with Amitabh Bachchan with whom he did films but always on an equal footing, Vinod Khanna replied that the reason why the duo could do several hit films together was because of the mutual understanding and trust the two shared. And did he regret giving up a glamorous career when he was at the peak of his career for going to Osho Rajnish’s Ashram? “No not at all. In fact I consider myself very fortunate of having an association with him for he was ahead of his times.”
